Mark D. Vickrey is a senior lecturer of history at Kennesaw State University. He began teaching as a graduate student at Appalachian State University before serving for two years as a lecturer there. He then taught as an adjunct instructor of history at the (then) Southern College of Technology and (then) DeKalb College, before becoming a temporary instructor of history at Southern Polytechnic State University in 1997. Vickrey was promoted to lecturer at SPSU in 2003 and to senior lecturer in 2009. With the consolidation of the two universities, he is now a senior lecturer at KSU. Vickrey teaches courses in world civilization and recent American history, and has taught modern world and diplomatic and military history. Vickrey earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida, a master's at Appalachian State University, and has additional graduate work in international relations at the University of Virginia.
