After teaching social studies in the high school classroom for 20 years in the Cobb County school system, Angela DeAngelo came to Kennesaw State University in the Fall of 2005 as a part-time supervisor of student teachers in the Social Studies Education program. Her sole responsibility, at that time, was to supervise both student teachers and TOSS students. Since that time, her role has changed from being just a supervisor to being a lecturer in the History Education program.
She co-teaches the TOSS (HIED 4413/14) courses along with other HIED faculty and supervises both TOSS students as well as student teachers during their field experiences. She is active within her History Education program and has co-edited the program's newsletter, "Clio in the Classroom" along with Dr. Jane McKinzey. Mrs. DeAngelo has also presented at the GCSS Conference in Athens, GA, judged the Northwest Georgia Regional Social Studies Fair hosted at KSU, and helped with History Day at KSU. Her goal as a HIED lecturer is to share her teaching experiences and expertise with her KSU students so that they will have a realistic and enthusiastic approach to teaching when they begin their careers.
